Where do you source your wood and products?
While we primarily have a single source of balsa and plywood, sometimes we reach out to multiple vendors.
Balsa wood is typically medium-to-light grade, some approaching competition grade. We hate building with crappy wood, and you do, too!
We almost exclusively use Du-Bro and Sullivan Products accessories. They offer excellent pricing to kit manufacturers and we definitely pass on the savings!
What if I want a kit that you don't list? Do you take special requests?
Absolutely! Just contact us with which plan set you want us to work on, and what level of kit you desire. We will do our best to give you an estimate of the cost of the kit.
We do not charge you anything extra to create Short kits. We work on these first-come, first-served, and understand this is NOT our full-time jobs. We will work diligently to get the parts created and cut quickly, but sometimes one just has to be patient.
Your plan prices are amazing! Will you print plans not on your site?
Absolutely! Just contact us and let us know which plan is special to your heart. We will take a look then send you an invoice. Simple as that!
We are fortunate to have partnered with a fantastic reprographics shop locally that gives us incredible service and pricing.
Do you sell your digital/pdf plan files?
Sorry, no, we do not. Many of our plans are very unique, and we know if we give someone the digital version it will wind up on the Internet. We have invested considerable time, money, and resources to collect and maintain these plans.
How long does it take to process an order?
Most kits are made to order. We are a small shop and simply cannot stock all of our products. We strive to cut and ship our kits as quickly as possible, which should be within one week.
Plans will be ordered once or twice a week, depending on volume, and then picked up and shipped within a two days. So allow one week for plans, as well.
What about shipping?
We presently ship everything via USPS Priority Mail, insured, and we attempt to only charge you precisely what it costs us. Shipping duration will vary depending on our relative location (we are in North Carolina), weather, and the mood of USPS. This is typically 3-5 business days.
All products are carefully wrapped and padded to protect while in transit. Should they arrive damaged, please read further here.
We will ship 1-2x per week, depending on volume. Typically, orders will go out Monday and Friday.
Additional shipping options could be added in the near future. For International Shipping options, click here.
Can I pick up my order?
Absolutely! If you live or are visiting the greater Charlotte, NC, area, and would like to pick it up, drop us a note after your order so we can arrange a time. We will refund the shipping cost once your order is in your happy hands.
Do we ship to PO Boxes?
Wherever our shipping service (presently USPS Priority Mail) will accept to, we can ship to.
USPS Priority will deliver domestically to PO Boxes, as well as postal centers. International is dependent upon the country’s local delivery service rules.
Shipping Rates
The rates that we pay are the rates that you pay. AeroHead Designs attempts to get the lowest rate possible for you.
International Shipping
USPS Priority Mail, insured, is currently our best option for shipments to our international customers. Additional shipping options may be added in the near future.
And, once again, the rates that we pay are the rates that you pay.
How do I check the status of my order?
When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number. Please allow 24-48 hours for the tracking information to become available online.
If you have not received your order within 5-7 business days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us via our contact form with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Should your order get damaged in shipping, please use our contact form to let us know. We will contact you as soon as possible to coordinate the return. We will request photos of the damaged product and packaging. If and once the damage is evaluated, we will replace your damaged item(s). We will always reserve the right to make the final determination.
Can I exchange a product?
As all of our items are made to order, we simply cannot offer exchanges.
